KaiseRoll's Tuesday Tiered Rankings

Posted by KaiseRoll13 KaiseRoll13

For tonight's four-game slate I'm going to mix it up a bit. Here is a position-by-position breakdown of player rankings by tiered value. The guys in the top tier represent the best value, not necessarily the highest overall projection or price. Prices are based on FanDuel's system, but values may translate to other sites as well.

1. Stephen Curry $9800- Top overall PG...playing at home...plenty of values to afford him.

2. Ricky Rubio $6300- Gets to face Nash for 10-15 minutes tonight!

3. Goran Dragic $8600- Priced a bit high for blowout risk tonight against Bulls on B2B, but reliable and quality production.

4. Jeff Teague $6400- Tough matchup but Pacers are B2B on the road and only 3 point favorites in Atlanta tonight with a 199 o/u. 42 & 28 fpts in two games since returning from injury.

5. D.J. Augustin $6500- Relegated to bench duty last night but still played 31 minutes and Bulls need his scoring touch.

6. George Hill $5100- Very cheap but B2B games under 20 fpts and only 19 minutes played last game. High o/u for Pacers tonight compared to normal...could bump him back into the 20-25 fpts range.

7. Kemba Walker $8300/Ramon Sessions $5800- Kemba is listed as questionable and even if he's playing tonight there's the risk he has another setback like last week. If Walker is ruled out, then Sessions bumps into Tier Two value.

8. Lakers Guards- Nash will play just 10-15 minutes tonight...Farmar is expected to play limited minutes...Blake (listed at SG) is starting. There's little reason to think any of these players will emerge with a quality game. This also acts as a major deterrent for using Kendall Marshall, who depended on HEAVY minutes for his production.

1. Lance Stephenson $7800- Highest floor, highest ceiling. Worth the price.

2. Kevin Martin $5800- Terrific matchup vs. Lakers tonight with 217 o/u. Nearly 15 shots per game in January and still no Pekovic on offense for MIN.

3. Gerald Green $5600- Close behind KevMart...good blend of role and price. Tougher matchup vs. CHI and lower-scoring expectation keeps him in this slot.

4. Jimmy Butler $6100- Minutes machine. 40+ in 7 straight, but B2B could reduce efficiency tonight.

5. Gerald Henderson $5900- Shots spiked up with Kemba out and could regress back tonight if Walker plays. Steady minutes, but CHA is a 10 point underdog @ GS.

6. Klay Thompson $6000- Horrible shooting slump, but Splash Bro #2 will break out eventually.

7. Lou Williams $4400- Cheapest I'd go at SG...20 fpts in 22 mins on average since Teague came back, but difficult to post that kind of fantasy efficiency against IND.

1. Ryan Kelly $4400- Minutes are more solidified with Pau out. 20+ fpts in 7 of 9. Best value due to low price.

2. DeMarre Carroll $6200- Safe 25 fpts given his workload and recent performance. Room for more, but much tougher matchup (IND) than in recent games against MIN, PHI & MIL. 27 fpts in 39 mins vs. IND on Jan 8.

3. Mike Dunleavy $5600- Nothing flashy, but generally tops 20 fpts and plays 30+ mins every game.

4. Corey Brewer $4400- VERY inconsistent but matchup is ripe tonight vs. Lakers. Has a chance to be the top value at SF if he tops 25 fpts.

5. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist $4000- Fairly steady 15-20 fpts production at a decent discount, at a position scarce of value.

6. Andre Iguodala $5300- 30-38 mins in last ten games. Sporadic production with low ceiling.

7. Paul George $8400- Only in a value rankings article will you see this all-star at the bottom of a list.  Pacers bring too much balance and George has shot just 40% since the start of the year. He needs to top 40 fpts more often (just twice in last 10) to be considered at this price.

1. Kevin Love $11,100- He's topped 50 fpts in three straight including a monster 43 & 19 effort last game. Pekovic remains out and Love draws an incredible matchup with the Lakers sans Gasol. It's not too difficult to fit him in so pay the piper and move on.

2. Jordan Hill $4200- Despite not starting tonight, he stands to gain the most from the Gasol injury. He's always a threat to put up a fantasy point-per-minute production, so a bump to 25-30 mins should bring great value for his price.

3. Markieff Morris $5400- Consistent producer off the bench. Blowout risk tonight could help his role, as well as if Noah gets suspended for the game after last night's shenanigans.

4. David West $6400- For a bit more than Markieff you get West as a starter in a projected close game. Low ceiling for this price, but facing a small frontcourt in Atlanta.

5. Marcus Morris $4200- The other twinbrother has really stepped it up lately, playing 21-29 mins in his last four with an fpts log of 18 26 29 14. He's much less consistent than the Tier Two guys but comes at a discount.

6. Taj Gibson $6500- Taj gets special mention in the event that Noah is suspended tonight. I don't trust Boozer on a B2B, and Gibson has been a horse when starting. Bump him up to Tier One value if he starts at Center tonight.

1. Ronny Turiaf $4100- Great matchup vs. Lakers, 21 24 14 27 fpts as a starter with Pek out.

2. Andrew Bogut $7000- Coming off two monster games (53 41 fpts)...David Lee still questionable for tonight.

3. Roy Hibbert $6400- Expected close game facing undersized Hawks. Extra mins could turn into 30+ fpts out of Dr. Hibbert.

4. Robert Sacre $3500- 15 fpts per game in 8 starts this year. Temper expectations but could provide value at minimum price.

5. Al Jefferson $9700- Blowout risk and high price drops him down on this list, but AlJeff remains the top overall C tonight. 37+ fpts in nine straight until the dud last time out on the B2B.

6. Joakim Noah $9000- He may be suspended tonight...Thibs may also be frustrated with his star player and choose to rest him in the case of a blowout. If he plays, though, Noah carries the diverse skillset that has been fantasy gold over the past month.

7. Chris Kaman $4200- Too speculative to list any higher, but Kaman was cleared to play tonight. These are his result in the three games Pau has sat this year...11 fpts in 10 mins off the bench, 35 fpts in 30 mins as a starter, 36 fpts in 28 mins as a starter. He's nowhere near a safe pick, and perhaps a pre-game report will bring more clarity to his role tonight...but Kaman definitely brings some upside at this price if D'Antoni chooses to use him.
